The Well Woman Check is an ideal baseline health check and includes tests for many of the health issues that can affect women. It includes tests for red and white blood cells, kidney and liver function, iron deficiency, cholesterol and more.

This health check also includes tests for pituitary hormones luteinising hormone (LH)  and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) which can give insights into your fertility, menopausal status and whether you might be affected by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Why is this test no longer available with finger-prick sample collection?

During lockdown when clinic visits weren’t available for venous sample collection, we made a small number of our venous tests temporarily available for home finger-prick sample collection. Now that our clinic network is opening up we are reverting to venous, simply for a better customer experience. The higher failure rate on this test when the sample is collected by finger-prick, means that customers often don’t receive all of their results and have to repeat the test. For a successful test first time round, we now only offer venous sample collection.
