Special instructions

Please take your sample in the morning. CRP levels can be affected by infection, inflammation, and illness. If you are taking this test because you have recently developed symptoms or they are worsening you should discuss these with your doctor. We suggest taking your test when any short-term change in your symptoms have settled. If you are taking a T3 containing medication take your test in the hour prior to your dose of medication. Fasting is optional for this test. Eating fatty foods might affect the results of a small number of blood tests so we may advise a retest when you are fasted. If you are interested in your triglyceride or LDL levels, then we do recommend fasting. Do not take vitamin B12 for two weeks prior to this test. If your B12 is prescribed ask your doctor whether you should stop before testing. Do not take biotin supplements for 2 days prior to this test. If you are taking prescribed biotin you should discuss this with your doctor. Avoid heavy exercise and eating meat-rich meals for 48 hours before your test. You should take this test before you take any vitamin or mineral supplements. Avoid taking a finger-prick sample from a finger used to handle hormone-gels in the past 4 weeks.

From the expert

Formerly known as Well Man UltraVit Blood Test

The Advanced Well Man Blood Test is an advanced blood test covering the key health issues that affect men. It includes tests for liver and kidney health, diabetes and heart disease risk as well as markers for energy and nutrition. It also includes a test for low T (testosterone) which is the male hormone responsible for libido, muscle mass and male fertility. It is designed to provide insights into a wide number of important health markers which can be monitored over time.

Because it is a comprehensive profile testing for many markers it cannot be done on a finger-prick sample taken at home. You will need to go to a partner clinic to have a blood sample drawn from your arm by a qualified professional, or arrange for a nurse to come to you.

Designed for men of all ages, this test focuses on many areas of your health which you may be able to improve through lifestyle changes. The test includes an online lifestyle and vital statistics questionnaire which we encourage you to complete when you take your test. This helps our doctors write a comprehensive, personalised report detailing what your results mean and what you can do to improve them.

Why take this test?

  • You want a thorough health check that covers as many areas as possible
  • You want to see how your lifestyle is affecting your major organs and risk for diabetes and heart disease
  • You want to check your testosterone level
  • You want an easy and convenient way to check the main health risks that affect men
