Key biomarkers - see full list below

  • You want a comprehensive health check you can do at home
  • You want to know whether you have any conditions which place you in the "at risk" group for coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • You have an existing medical condition and want to take action to reduce your risk factors for the virus
  • You want to check you have optimal vitamin D levels for immune health

In these uncertain times, people are worried about their health and especially the risk of severe infection with coronavirus. People at higher risk of becoming very unwell include older adults, those with suppressed immune systems and those with medical conditions including diabetes, lung disease, and cardiovascular disease (such as heart disease or high blood pressure).

Getting and staying fit and healthy must be a priority for us all, and there is a lot we can do to improve our general health which may affect our ability to cope with viral infections. Making sure that we have sufficient vitamin D and ferritin (a measure of iron storage) has been shown in studies to reduce the frequency and severity of upper respiratory tract infections. And the good news is that chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease can be improved with lifestyle changes – and in many cases, it doesn't take long to see results. With this test, you can get valuable insights about your health so you can take action to make changes.

This test looks at key biomarkers for chronic conditions that can increase the likelihood of having severe illness as a result of coronavirus and other respiratory tract infections. Biomarkers include a full cholesterol profile which, together with a QRisk score can help assess your cardiovascular risk. It also includes HbA1c, a marker for diabetes, a condition which also leads to a more severe response to the coronavirus infection.

This home test is ideal for people self-isolating. You can take your sample at home using the kit we send in the post – then simply post the sample to the lab in the envelope provided.

Find out more about how you can get in shape and reduce your risks for some of the conditions which place you in a higher risk group in our guide to coronavirus.
