Special instructionsHigh dose biotin supplements can affect this test. If you are taking more than the recommended daily amount, then you should not take your supplements for two days before this test. If you are taking high dose biotin for medical reasons (e.g. multiple sclerosis), then you should discuss this with your doctor. The AMH test can return lower than expected results if you are taking the contraceptive pill or another form of hormonal contraception. Levels will return to normal after stopping use of contraception. Please let us know if you have polycystic ovarian syndrome as this can cause higher than expected levels of AMH. You can record this in your medical history in your MyMedichecks account.
